Clare Corporation

Problem:

The client is a manufacturer of a diverse line of semiconductor power control circuits, reed relays and switches, and surge protection devices. Individual data sheets, application notes, errata, and revisions to all were causing serious logistics problems. The client wanted an up-to-date full-line catalog that would correct and update all product data, in one place.

Solution:

We set up a comprehensive asset tracking system to track every original piece of data, every graph, every proof, every approval, and every piece of artwork in the catalog layout.

Templates were created for each type of performance graph so that the engineering data could be quickly plotted and artwork generated. In total, 2,223 performance curves were generated, along with dimensional diagrams for each product, product photographs, and numerous schematics.

Results:

The 626-page catalog was completed and available for distribution in both print and electronic form in time for the driving event.

The catalog files became a base repository for product data and were repurposed for web access.

Problem:

Promotional images of a new reed relay product were required while still in the prototype stage.

Solution:

From Engineering drawings, a 3D model was built and assembled.

Multiple renderings were done for each component in turn. These renderings were then composited in registration, so that "cutaways" could be added to reveal layers and hidden components below.

The completed composite of the product was further combined with photos of the actual prototype components, and a portion of one of the source drawings.

Problem:

A press release photo for a typical opto-coupled power control circuit was needed that would 1) show the key control components and their configuration, 2) show the scale of the product in it's [then] new low-profile packaging, and 3) not be the "same old" boring IC shot (since all IC's look pretty much the same.)

Solution:

A studio photo of the IC itself shot with a ruler scale was combined with a simplified schematic diagram of the power circuit.

Effects were added to the circuit components to be emphasized and described in the press release copy.

We did a number of individual data sheets, promotional items, newsletters, and press release photos, including several 3D model shots, as well.
